I'm a high school teacher, who loves to read a great book, enjoys a night in or a night out, and loves spending time with friends. Family is very important to me - I grew up in a close-knit household, and as crazy as they can sometimes be, my family is what keeps me grounded. My friends are scattered throughout the state, so I truly value the time I get to spend with each of them.
My friends would tell you I'm caring, independent, not afraid to be honest or speak my mind, and will do anything for someone I care about. I'm also confident, have a sarcastic sense of humor, and driven (sometimes overly so). I'm probably the least mechanical person you will ever meet and have a tendancy for being clumsy - yes I am that person who sometimes trips for no reason at all. I love teaching, and enjoy seeing that "light bulb moment" when a student finally understands a concept or an idea - I believe that to be a good teacher you have to remain a life-long learner, so I love to get out and try new things and experiences.
As for who I'm looking for...someone who enjoys discovering new things, but is also content to stay at home for the night/weekend on occassion. Someone with ideals and goals, with a career they love but who knows it's not the only thing that matters (and who will be willing to remind me of that as well). Someone who enjoys good company and good conversation, about everything from world issues to the trivial. Someone who is willing to kill spiders and set mice traps if necessary and who understands my complete lack of understanding when it comes to anything mechanical. Someone who puts up with my love of shoes, but realizes that I really am a country girl who isn't afraid to get dirty or work hard when the time calls for it. Most of all, someone who can accept me for me, and who isn't afraid to push me to be the best possible version of myself.
