Hey there! Thanks for checking me out. Here's my incredible, true-life story, condensed version: * I live for the outdoors. Hiking, mountain biking and snowshoeing are my big three, but there honestly aren't too many outdoor sports I don't like. And I'm always game to try new ones. I try to get out in the mountains 2-3 days a week. I'm working on doing all the 14ers, and this summer I'm also going to start working on centennial 13ers. The perfect day for me? A big hike, followed by a big meal and a big beer. * I lived in Asia (China, Indonesia and Thailand) from 2004 to 2010. I'm still waiting for the States to feel like home, but usually I feel like a foreigner here. I gravitate to people who've had similar experiences. * Dive bars? Coors lite? Seedy strip-mall ethnic food? Yes please! Maybe it's growing up country or living in all those developing nations, but I have a real affinity for all things simple and unpretentious. On a recent trip to Boulder, I found a brewery in one of those roll up garages. They had cornhole out back. I was in heaven. * For over two years, I've been a full-time freelance writer. Sometimes I get to write about cool stuff like survival and technology and music. But I also write about really boring stuff like emissions testing, prefab homes and getting along with your geriatrician. * I've been bitten by a vampire bat. It's a long story, best told over beer. * After several years of slacking, I ran a marathon in May 2012 and loved it. My goal for 2013 is the Pikes Peak Marathon, which is good for dating, because I will be HUNGRY and oh so grateful to any man who buys me Thai food. Or better, cooks me dinner. * Two things I really want out of life: to write books and travel EVERYWHERE. I'm currently obsessed with Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and the Wakhan Corridor in Afghanistan. I'd love to meet a guy who is: * HOT!! I wouldn't say hotness is a purely physical thing. It's also a state of mind. * Strong and secure. Cause damn, that's hot! I love a guy who isn't afraid to take the lead, speak his mind, make plans, take risks, etc. * Likes the idea of traveling for weeks at a time in places where he can't drink the water. * Has lived a lot, has crazy stories to tell. * Craves a physical challenge -- hiking, biking, 14ers, running, adventure racing and so on. * Smart and well-read * Responsible about finances, health, ya know, the important stuff. Thanks for reading. If you think we might be a good team, drop me a line and let's meet up for a beer!
