I enjoy traveling and can't get enough of culture, people and life in general! Travel has changed the way I see people, the way I think about things, and overall, has made me a much more open-minded person. I like to travel within the U.S., but I crave the culture of foreign lands and visiting the more uncommon, non-touristy places. My niche in life is working with under-served populations and empowering others. I love to see others overcome their obstacles. Education is a big deal to me; if I could, I would be a life-long student. I am a total nerd when it comes to learning and school - I love it (and yes, I am a slight grammar nazi...so please know how to use to/too/two and your/you're correctly). I work in global public health, specifically in HIV/AIDS. I am also passionate about human rights issues, specifically those related to the LGBT community (I have a lot of very close friends that are gay and am also constantly working with this community in my line of work). I ran my first half marathon about a year ago (Spring 2012) and found it slightly addicting (not addicting enough though that I want to run a full), so I just did another half last November, through one of the state parks in my beautiful home state, Utah. Hoping to keep up with the trend of at least one each Spring and Fall. I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially in the Autumn and Spring, when the weather is nice...winter and summer, but only if I'm geared up to go skiing or in a bathing suit to jump in the water! Things I love....(since it didn't fit in my "favorite things"): Beaches, massages, good conversation, culture, yoga, a cozy fire, people-watching, NPR, dancing, friends, concerts, fireflies, live music, passionate people, a good bottle of wine, skiing, Spring, photography, sloths, ethnic cuisine, guacamole, festivals, art, kissing, "golden hour" (I'd freeze the day at this time of day...it's so beautiful!), tulips calla lilies, Salsa (dancing food), mountains, lightning storms, cuddling...and I could go on and on! :)
