My friends would describe me as adventurous, dedicated, and dependable. I have a dry sense of humor and tend to like sarcasm, dark comedies, and old school stand up comedians like George Carlin, Bill Hicks, and Richard Pryor. I read mostly historical fiction and classic literature. I've been a Marine for about 12 years- it's a lot of work and has required some sacrifice, but I love what I do and wouldn't trade it. I have a large extended family, mostly in PA and in the midwest, that I love and don't get to see enough. I prefer beer to wine, bars to clubs, and steak to anything vegetarian. I stay pretty active and work out almost every day. I have a resolution to finally learn to surf this summer and am looking forward to embarrasing myself in the attempt. I live vicariously through people with awesome dogs. I'm inspired by "The Most Interesting Man in the World" commercials. I work hard and mainly have my stuff together, but know when to not take things too seriously. I've always been independent and happy on my own, but have reached the point where I'm looking for someone to settle down with.
A couple of random facts to seem more interesting. I've been in two NY Times best sellers, once in print and once in a picture. I used to be a pro athlete. A low level one, but technically still a pro. :)
I don't really have a type, just someone who is intelligent, active, independent, has a sense of humor, and has their own goals and interests. Someone genuine and with their life together, who also knows how to just relax and have fun. If this sounds like you....
