I am a teacher and, flu season aside, I really love what I do! Summer break helps. It's energizing to work with young people in helping them recognize and develop their talents. I will probably be involved in education on some level--teaching, coaching, developing teachers, tutoring, writing about teaching--for my entire career. In my summers, I have traveled to some beautiful places (Australia, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, the UK) for vacation and some beautifully humbling places (Dominican Republic, Navajo Nation, Appalachia) for service/volunteer work. This kind of work keeps me grounded and grateful. As these trips have been eye-opening and mind-opening, I hope to continue this trend of traveling throughout my life. I like to run, swim, hike, etc. I love the shore and spend a good deal of time there in the summer. Probably like you, I find in my family and friendships real love and kindness. My mom and dad are best friends, and I am close with my older brother and sister-in-law as well. I find faith important because while I value a strong work ethic and self-reliance, I'd hate to think there wasn't something out there greater than myself helping all of us along. So yes, I appreciate all faith traditions, except ones devoted to the Cowboys. I am looking for a guy who is smart, clean-cut, athletic, committed to his career, adventurous, and more. If this guy can share with me a love of outdoor adventure, sports, live music, tasty beer, good coffee, reading and travel, then this whole match thing may be worth it.
