I have a great life and am surrounded by fantastic family and friends. There always seems to be something fun going on between birthdays, events, and random get-togethers and it would be nice to have a partner to share them with. My interests cover a wide range of things so let me just share a few things I have done in the last few months...kayaked to a glacier, been to the movies, zip lined, attended a concert (Miranda Lambert, REO Speedwagon, Jason Aldean, Lumineers), deep-sea fished in the Atlantic Ocean, attended police, school, and YMCA fundraisers/dinners, camped, ATV'd, wine tasted, BBQ'd, played Just Dance on the Wii (and won), went out dancing, played board games, attended a football game...Basically, if it's in my budget and I have the time, I am up for most adventures.
I am happy with my life and being single but am open to meeting the right man who can positively add to it. I am not fresh out of a relationship. We all have past relationships, but I would like to meet someone who is comfortable being alone and isn't fresh off a break-up. I have raised a child (now in high school) on my own and am proud of the awesome person I have raised. I am open to dating someone who has kids but you MUST play an active role in their lives. That is a total deal breaker for me.
I am not into the bar scene, though a night out dancing every once in awhile is a blast. I like working out and hit the gym at least twice a week, but I am not a waif- I like having curves, and I have all my original body parts. I try to eat healthy, but won't pass up a glass of wine or cheese fries (favorite food vice). Also, I feel the need to specify that I don't do drugs and that I don't want to date anyone who does use them.
I am an educator (elementary) and I love my career (despite its many challenges). The person I want to be with needs to be kind and tolerant of others. I have a diverse group of friends and I work with children from all walks of life. Hatred and judgement doesn't have a place in my world. Being a teacher, I will never be a millionaire. I live pretty simply and don't need a lot of "stuff" to make me happy (translation-designer purses and shoes are not my thing). Don't get me wrong, I am a regular patron of Starbucks and I like to shop and all, but I would rather have experiences than things. I love the outdoors and would like to have someone to enjoy it with (yes, I can seriously rough it-camping where there is cell service doesn't really count as camping to me). I also have East Coast roots and love spending time there too.
Confidence in a man is an attractive quality. So is being able to hold an intelligent conversation.
I am easygoing and patient (my students tell me this so it's got to be true;)) but can be super sassy (all in fun). So a smart man who can act like a kid when the situation calls for it, would be someone I want to be around. I am loyal, honest, and straightforward and I expect the same from people in return. If this sounds like you and you like what you read about me, I would love to hear from you!
