After spending six years in New York City working in book publishing, I relocated to the Chapel Hill area last fall and am working as a freelance book editor (a long-time dream of mine!). Freelancing is awesome--I LOVE having a flexible schedule and the ability to work from wherever I fancy--but I also like to get out of my apartment and, you know, see other people on occasion...Perhaps you might be one of them? If you've often been told that you are incredibly funny, charming, and good looking, then by all means, get in touch! :-) On a more serious note, I most enjoy being around laid back people who are intellectually curious and have a sense of humor about this crazy thing called life.
Because I grew up moving around a lot (my parents do international work, and we spent many years in west and east Africa), I am incredibly close to my family. Other things that are hugely important to me are my dog, who is ridiculously adorable; travel; sunlight--and fun outdoor activities in said sunlight; and BOOKS! And, oh, tons of other things like honesty, integrity, loyalty, and the usual whatnots.
Some random things I enjoy: Wine and Design!, days spent at the beach with a good book and a margarita, enjoying a glass or three of wine with a close friend, going to a new restaurant, getting away from it all for a long weekend, a brisk breeze on a warm day, getting swept away by a good book or movie, my dog acting like she hasn't seen me in ten years when I've just been gone for a few hours, the endorphin-y way I feel after going for a jog or going to yoga, the way leaves look against the sunlight, good conversation, the scent of freshly baked bread, taking long walks or hikes, and conversations that last long into the night.
