I moved to Pittsburgh from Boston several years ago to begin working on my Ph.D. I have come to like the landscape, architecture, cultural activities of Pittsburgh and the down-to-earth friendliness of Pittsburgh's population. I am fascinated by the topic of my dissertation, but I also enjoy non-academic pursuits. For example, for the past two yeas, I have been learning how to dance (salsa, east coast swing, west coast swing, blues dancing) and have traveled in a few European countries. I enjoyed learning new languages and seeing beautiful works of art, as part of my dissertation research. I like to learn from other people. I like listening to radically different political, religious, intellectual, cultural opinions than mine (or even different opinions on fun topics, such as movies), and I very much enjoy healthy, respectful debates, and I always like hearing opinions and perspectives that are different from my own. I like hearing about other peoples' experiences in general that differ from mine.I like to cook, creatively, and invent new recipies. I like making healthy meals followed by indulgent desserts. I also enjoy walking through Pittsburgh's many beautiful parks. Though I am divorced, I am hopeful about new relationship possibilities. I hope to find another long-term relationship. I feel that I am not likely to produce children, but I very much like children, and it would be all right if my future partner had children; it would also be all right if a future partner did not have children. I would like to meet someone that I can connect to on many levels, someone with whom I can laugh, discuss issues large and small, someone that I enjoy caring about, and someone who cares about me. I would like to find a relationship that is meaningful, sensual, and supportive. I am looking for someone who is kind, self-aware, perceptive, thoughtful and fun.
