I love staying active and spending time outside (running, rock climbing, scuba diving, backpacking, mountain/road biking, snowboarding etc.). I like the "work hard, play hard" mentality and love that both the Sierras and the coast are close enough for weekend adventures. I love traveling to new places and trying new experiences. Meeting interesting people and discovering what they are passionate about is one of my favorite things.
I'm sarcastic and love joking around. Being able to laugh at yourself is key. I have a bit of a competitive streak, so I'm all for silly games and challenges. The more ridiculous the better.
Friends and family are really important to me and I'm lucky enough to have amazing people in my life. I enjoy hosting dinner parties and cooking and baking for my friends. To me, you can't really beat good wine, good food, and good company. I like low key get-togethers, but I also like going out on the town, and I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself on the dance floor. I'm the kind of girl who is as comfortable in high heels as hiking boots. I can be classy and have a bit of southern charm, but I'm completely down to earth and don't have any problem getting dirty and roughing it.
I'm a PhD student at UC Davis studying marine ecology. I scuba dive as part of my research, but also want to start diving more just for fun. I'm motivated and career oriented, but don't let work take over my life. I value balance and place a priority on enjoying life.
I love the people in my grad program, but it's about 70% women, so it's not the best place to meet single guys. I'm looking for someone who is fun loving and active. Someone who loves the outdoors. Having goals for your life and being passionate about what you do is also a plus.
