Average is boring. Life is too short for boring. I'm an "active relaxer"; if you think that Sundays were meant for sitting on a couch all day then we won't get along. That being said, I love the occasional quiet night in or a rainy day excuse for a day of movies and Italian food.
Online dating is tough - no matter how much you like someone's pictures (as you hope that the pictures are relatively recent and are somewhat reflective of what that person actually looks like) and how funny you find a few of their written comments, I think it all comes down to the question of chemistry - do you have it or not? So emails back and forth a few times are great, but lets just agree on a time and place to grab a drink.
I grew up in Long Island, went to school in Boston, lived in CT and moved to NYC about six years ago.
I have one sister and one adorable niece who I love to spoil. I got her a drum set for a first birthday - my brother in law wasn't too thrilled but she was! She just turned three; I think that a pony might be in order for her 4th.
Pet peeves: people that are late without a heads up, drivers who can't figure out how to maintain a proper highway speed just because it decided to rain or the sun sets around a curve (Long island expressway anyone?) 99 cents change (you can't spare me a penny?), European cut pants.
Turn-ons: confidence, class, ability to carry on a conversation, witty banter, a touch of sarcasm, intelligence, a girl that can do the tough mudder on Friday and go to a black tie event on Saturday, warm, easygoing, athletic.
Meandering thoughts: The gym is my hour of sanity per day. I like spin classes and cycling in general; bought a bike last summer and love a long ride on a sunny Saturday. I can't sleep late anymore - 10am has become an accomplishment. I like to have the a/c on 65 when I sleep. I'll take 115 dry heat over 80 and humid. One of my favorite quotes "he who dares, wins". My preferred beer is a IPA. I love dogs, particularly large dogs - I want to get a German Shepherd. Adventure is one of my favorite words. I don't like heights but I love to rock climb. I can't live far from a large body of (salt) water.
