I am replete while swimming in the ocean at night, making s'mores by a campfire, or ice-skating on a frozen pond. I love crisp autumn days and the shower after a long run. I love to laugh...all the time. I am cute and fun and I'd like to think I'm easy-going but I'm not really one to sit around all day, unless there's a cat in my lap of course.
I grew up in Hawai'i and while I have lived all over the country, the islands are very much a part of me. I moved to California from Minnesota 9 months ago and haven't regretted it at all (go figure). After way too many years of education, I'm finally ready to settle down and call this area my home.
While I wouldn't consider myself athletic/competitive, I am an active person and I try to keep at least in good shape. I just ran the Four Bridges 1/2 marathon. I enjoy hiking/backpacking, climbing, jogging, yoga, cycling, swimming, kayaking, white-water rafting, snowboarding, and scuba diving. Pretty much anything outside. I love to travel; my next goal is Antarctica in 2013 - if I can afford it.
I am an earthy and playful. Feminine but not girly (hate shopping - unless it's for athletic clothes/gear). Ambitious and adventurous. I enjoy dressing up nice on a special occasion but tend towards the casual, no make-up look the rest of the time. I don't get jealous. I'm addicted to the RadioLab podcasts on NPR. I drive a standard transmission.
Sometimes I act silly on purpose just to make myself laugh, but the rest of the time I am putting my foot in my mouth and everyone else laughs with/at me. In some ways I am proud of my Bridget Jones-style goofiness. My hope is that there is someone out there who finds it endearing. I'm always trying to be kind, generous and compassionate. My work is stressful so sometimes this challenges my efforts to be sublime.
The men I'm attracted to are enthusiastic about life, whatever it is they enjoy. I am looking for animated conversations and someone to offset the stress of my work.
