I'm new to San Diego, and loving it! How could you not?? The weather is nearly perfect, the beaches are beautiful, and the people are friendly! Happy to be here:)
I moved to San Diego 4 months ago, from Boston, MA. I really like it here. I just finished up a graduate level certificate course in teaching English as a Second Language (TESL/TEFL) at San Diego State University. I currently work for the County of San Diego, as a case worker for parolees and probationers on the AB109 bill, who have mental health issues. I really love my job- we work hard, but it's rewarding. I am applying to graduate schools for an MSW (masters of social work) for next fall. It's really an exciting time for me:)
I am a person who stutters (full disclosure, haha.) But actually, it has a positive influence on my life. I am involved in leading a chapter of the National Stuttering Association self help group out here in San Diego. I also led the group back in Boston for 4 years. If this is something you're not OK with, for some reason, that's fine. I am fun and accepting and very comfortable with myself and the direction my life is going.
I love to do outdoor sports with friends. I try to run 3-4 times a week to stay fit. It helps me concentrate:) I like to go mountain biking at Mission Trails in Santee, and hiking. I am trying to learn to surf:) I play tennis at least once a week. I enjoy reading- although I don't do as much as I used to. I like to travel, and have been throughout Europe and Africa doing volunteer work.
Hope to hear from you soon!
