I’ve been in New York for a while now (almost an official New Yorker). I grew up in Colorado which is an amazing place to go home to, but I much prefer the pace of the city. If we didn’t have winters and most street corners smelled a little better, I might just think NY is the most perfect city in the world. I enjoy exploring different neighborhoods and checking out new restaurants and bars. I spend a great deal of time thinking about food- when I’m eating breakfast I often think about what I am going to have for dinner- this drove my mother crazy growing up. I also enjoy nights at home or friends place cooking and relaxing or hosting a dinner party. I love scary movies, though most of the time I don’t think they are that great, but I will keep on seeking a good one. I love theme parties and dressing up. Dance parties are pretty awesome too, my dance skills….not so much.
I consider myself to be adaptable to most situations and find the same in partner very attractive. You can have fun at a dive bar in Brooklyn, a performance art show that you don’t get or a fancy dinner or polo in Connecticut and fit in everywhere just the same. I am an open minded person. Learning to appreciate what I have in my life and not take stuff for granted- its a work in progress. I'm independent but don't mind being taken care of. I’m pretty laid back and have a calm energy, I don’t take myself to seriously. I am an honest person (some might say, brutally honest) my facial expressions also tend to give away my thoughts. I consider myself a very loyal person and expect the same from people I keep close to me.
I’ve been on match in the past with some success, but obviously nothing lasting. After realizing I wasn’t going to meet anyone in my (awesome) backyard BBQing and hanging out by the fire, its back to match. It's hard to tell if you have chemistry with someone from these few questions and random "interesting" facts- I think you can only tell that upon meeting someone.
So, who am looking for?
I don't really have a "type" (though I think my friends would beg to differ). I'm just looking for someone I have a good vibe with. You should be attractive, intelligent, motivated, charming and laid back. It’s important that you live in the city- sorry Jersey, but you’re geographically undesirable. Someone who likes to explore and try new things and is able to turn a bad situation good. Open and honest, and will challenge me; I need someone that will keep me on my toes.
We should have a lot of fun together, no matter what we are doing. You should make me laugh and get my dry sense of humor. Talk about anything, but I think someone you can be silent with and feel comfortable with is important.
I’m looking for the kind of guy parents would like (but that's not to say the straight laced type), my friends will like you too and your friends should like me too. We’ll consider each other a catch. Mostly though, I want to smile when I think of you.
