I like bright colors, sheer honesty, absurd humor, spicy Thai food, genuine kindness, Brazilian jazz, and realistic optimism. I love the pioneering spirit and freedom of California, which has made me more relaxed and creative. But I’ve kept my East Coast ambition, strength, and values: I work hard, show up when I say I will, and am there for my friends and family no matter what. I try to live a meaningful life that's also fun and creative. As a therapist, I’ve worked with kids in Oakland Public Schools and homeless women in Berkeley. I’m honored to help people, and I love that there’s no such thing as an ordinary day. I’m continually surprised, humbled, and in awe of peoples’ life stories.
My passion for music makes room for Jeff Buckley, Suzanne Vega, Thelonius Monk, the Shins, Allison Krauss, Bob Dylan and Brahms, to start with. I love seeing anything live, whether it's at Yoshi’s, Davies Symphony Hall or a hole-in-the-wall in the Mission.
I also love going to museums, movies, plays, and dance performances. I’d like to be fluent in Spanish someday, but for now I just try to pick up what I can by reading Borges, watching Almodovar films or listening to “La Kalle.” Enjoy being outdoors--staircase walks in SF, hiking in Tilden, last-minute road trips on a Sunday, despite the laundry piling up. I'm looking for someone who is bright, creative, and kind, who goes after what he wants in life and likes trying new things.
