I am English and moved to the East Coast and now Los Angeles. I guess I have assimilated into LA at this point: to give you an idea, I have been doing hot yoga for the past 2 months which is not a particularly English pursuit...but I do still watch my favorite football (ie soccer) team. I am on this thing to expand the circle a bit beyond the people I know. Even though I love LA, I don't find it particularly great for meeting new people. Sometimes I yell one-liners to other cars at stop-lights but it's not a great strategy. I work in the film business which takes up a lot of time but overall it's worth it. I spend most of my time on cultural pursuits (I guess that's the pretentious way of saying watching TV and seeing movies) and having a nice meal with a nice drink.
