Trying to keep it simple, really. Way too many people in southern California are all the same. Looking for those who set themselves apart from the rest, from the scene, from the 'norm'.
These preferences are not an invitation for weirdos, just people who are unique. Although I find people who are a little goofy rather charming. It's nice if you have a drive and passion outside of shallow things. I think the sexiest thing a woman can wear is a nice pair of jeans & a nice shirt. Leave some room for the imagination; don't give it all away upon first impression.
I am originally from northern California, so I value nature, fresh air, history, tradition, adventure, beauty, character, values, animals, relaxation, patience, family, & 4 seasons.
I am a sucker for curly hair, light eyes, & taller girls, ethnic backgrounds, & darker skin. Don't be alarmed if you don't fit into that, it doesn't mean that if you are a short straight blond with brown eyes that I'm repulsed. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like for there to be something about you that is different and interesting. Awesome. Can you strum your way through a song you wrote about your cat? Smitten. Can you bake your grandma's famous dish without reading cheat sheet notes? Succulent. Hold a world record for most jump roping hops on 1 foot while texting? Bragging rights! Can you tickle your left ear with your right big toe while making shadow puppets with your left foot & doing sign language with your right hand? Awkward, but we'll run with it. I have plenty of those things myself. I think it is great to share as many things in common as possible, but also desire to have the both of us have things that are unique and special to our individuality. Something that I can admire you for that I cannot do, or have not done, or would love to do.
You can win me over by either feeding me Macaroni & cheese or chocolate milk, but not at the same time, gross.

I enjoy smiling at people in public for no reason other than to be friendly, and it is interesting to me the responses that I get. A simple smile & acknowledgment of a "have a nice day" nod goes a long way. That's probably the small town philosophy in me. I like to hold the doors open for strangers and always let grandmas cut in line wherever I am. Their time is limited, ya know?
