It's my hope that if you're reading this, you're looking for more than a date or a fling. I'm at the point in my life where I'd like to commit to the right girl *gasp!*. I have no illusions and I am not perfect, but I am somewhat of an idealist and would rather be single than settle. So here it goes... I love music and love recommendations. Last summer I saw Iron and Wine, Glen Hansard, The Black Keys, and Radiohead (twice: *I really like Radiohead). I have a small stash of vinyl and prefer Rachmaninov piano concertos to country or rap. I really do not like country. In the summer I enjoy camping with friends (and my dog), grilling out, and drinking all the great Michigan microbrews. I hike, I kayak, I run, I bike, I read, I drum, and I attempt to play guitar. I used to think I wanted to be a writer and have a BA in English/Creative Writing from Michigan State. I somehow ended up as a financial analyst for an insurance company and spend my weekdays in my cubicle. But I do not define myself by my job; and what you do and how much money you make is not going to impress me as much as your ability to have engaging and intelligent conversation. I work so that I can live my "real" life outside of the office. I'm looking for someone who is sincere and who surrounds herself with quality people. And If you play an instrument of any sort, you get huge bonus points. But really, all I'm looking for is a good girl with a big heart who loves her friends and who will challenge me when I need it. Also, please be funny. The End
