Disclaimer: I have intentionally made multiple common spelling errors in this description. If you can point out at least three, I will owe you a free hug, and not one of those half-assed, one-arm-around-the-shoulder, light-tap-on-the-back hugs (which is a pet peeve of mine). My name is Vladimir. When I was 4, my awesome parents moved my sister and me from then-Yugoslavia to the frigid depths of Minnesota, where I also went to college. Upon graduating, I moved to sunny California for graduate school. I'm fortunate enough to have a job that I actually like. Twirling beakers and mixing chemicals is a blast, and I have a great boss who is willing to forgive my lab fires and explosions (I literally set my pants on fire in grad school). Thankfully, my job also allows me to live a fulfilling lifestyle. After all, what's the point of living in this fantastic city if one doesn't have time to enjoy it? But I digress...I would love to meet someone whose in a similar situation (I mean career-wise, in that you have one that your serious about; you don't need to be a chemist). I love to laugh, so hopefully you also have a good (preferably great) sense of humor. This translates into everything from funny movies (although I enjoy most other genres of cinematic film as well), to memes, to hilarious videos on the YouTubes. In short, I try to find at least one thing on the Webbernets each day that makes me laugh so hard that I begin to tear up (from laughter, not because I'm emotionally fragile [which I'm absolutely not]). I listen to music whenever possible, and I'm fortunate enough to work in a lab where headphones are allowed. I like ALMOST (and that's an important distinction) everything, from electronic music, to rock music, to most types of pop music (sue me, it's catchy as hell), to hip-hop, and yes, even indie music, although I am not a condescending jerk about it like some of my friends. Being an active guy, I obviously love foods. Again, I'm not too picky because there is so ridiculously much excellent food out their that it's almost dizzying. But my hope is that you, the reader, enjoy trying new restaurants and cooking recipes. With that said, I'm trying to cook more often so that I can become a master chef. Finally, I try to stay active and healthy, but that's not the most exciting conversation peace. Suffice it to say that we can take romantic walks through Balboa Park (from which I live less than a mile) or on the beach, go for a hike (which I enjoy) or a run (which I enjoy less), or have an Olympic weightlifting competition. That is, unless you're going to beat me in the weightlifting competition, in which case well stick to walking and hiking (and possibly running). I also enjoy yoga, irregardless of the fact that I am horrible at it. So send me a message if any of these things resonate with you, even if you just want to exchange favorite bands, foods, or organic chemistry reactions. Second disclaimer (I know, I know, enough already): I am in the process of adopting an incredibly friendly and gentle (but also very large) St. Bernard, so theirs that.
