Accepting applications for my partner in crime.
I'd rather someone spend time with me and get to know me by my actions. But here goes nothing..
I moved from Michigan to Florida in August of '11 to pursue an opportunity of a lifetime. I accepted an intern position through the Disney college program. I loved it so much I decided to extend into a second program. I was scheduled to go back home to Michigan at the beginning of Jan 2012 but I'm here to stay. I love Florida! :) The winters in Michigan are far too cold for this old girl. Haha. I was born in Texas, grew up in Michigan, moved to St Louis for a few years, moved back and bought my first house in Michigan, and here I am today - living in Orlando, Florida. I went on my first cruise in Jan (Disney Dream to the Bahamas!) and now I'm addicted! If I could - I'd go on a cruise every month. Traveling is definitely something I see in my future.
I'm an uber dork, big kid at heart, responsible like an old geezer, but I consider myself very balanced. I will be content in almost every atmosphere I'm put in; classy dress for a big event, rock the athletic gear and hit up the gym, dolled up for a concert/show/night on the town, chill with a glass of wine/good book on the couch, or walking around public and acting goofy/silly like a teenybopper.
I love to learn. Knowledge is true power. I keep an open mind to almost everything and love to hear/see different perspectives. I'm very outspoken and I stand up for what I believe in. Communication is key to any relationship; friends, intimacy, work, etc. I enjoy being a great friend to the people I care for and being there when they need me most. A good listener isn't always someone who can just lend an open ear, but, someone who will add relevant/valuable dialogue to the conversation.
Two traits I'm looking for in someone who enters my life: sense of humor and sarcasm. Humor is sexy (If you can make me"BAHAHAHAHHA" outloud, you will earn a ginormous pool of cool points that never expire.) Laughter = happiness, and sarcasm = form of intelligence. Honesty and respect are 2 things I give everyone and expect the same in return.
Favorite food? Favorite sport? Favorite activity? I am horrible at picking "favorites" for this reason alone - I enjoy too many things and can find pleasure and happiness in almost anything.
Randoms: I am a huge planner. I like the color purple but nothing trumphs my love for black. I (unintentionally) intimidate boys. I overuse emoticons. Txting makes my life easy. After working for Disney I'm a FB addict. I'm currently studying toward a Business degree. I can't swim. I love to cook/bake. I'm absolutely ridiculous.
Im an extremely positive person and surround myself with people of similar qualities. Negativity doesn't get anyone anywhere! I'd rather exert the time and energy into finding a solution.
I've experienced a lot of pain and loss in my life; there is always a reason to smile and say "life is great". I wouldn't be the person I am today had I not experienced all the ups and downs life has given me. I am grateful. I love who I am. Life is truly beautiful and too short to be wasted.
The Optimist Creed sums up my ultimate goals for how I wish to live life:
-Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind
-To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet
-To make all your friends feel like there is something in them
-To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true
-To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and expect only the best
-To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own
-To forget the mistakes of the past and press on the greater achievements of the future
-To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living person you meet a smile
