I think my headline is a fairly adequate description of myself, but if you want to know more, read on :) I am an honest and grounded person who understands reality and tells it like it is, but also an idealist who sees the world as it could be and tries to make it so. I have been told that I am sweet and sarcastic with a good heart and a laughter that is real. I guess this means that I don’t fake laughing at things I don’t find funny, but don’t worry, I can find the humor in just about anything, including (and oftentimes) myself.
I am passionate about music, dancing, movies, and literature. I also enjoy staying at home and watching a movie or playing scrabble (or Scramble when I'm alone). Although my late-night Sound Factory days are over, I still like going out and having a good time with friends. I am also passionate about writing (I want to write a book one day), food (eating, mainly, although recently I have gotten into cooking—don’t get too excited, boys) and my weekly Zumba dance parties.
I love to travel. The idea of going somewhere new, meeting new people, exploring new cultures, eating new food, learning new things and coming back a new person really excites me. I haven’t been to many countries yet, but for two summers, I went to Armenia to do some volunteer work and can’t wait to do more of both traveling and volunteering in the future.
I also really like what I do. I teach English in the inner city to at-risk high school students, but I am not your typical Michelle Pfeiffer in Dangerous Minds and can definitely not rock the suit jacket with shoulder pads like she does.
In terms of what I’m looking for, I’m looking for someone who is honest, funny, smart and compassionate. I'm looking for a best friend, a family man, and someone to grow with. He should be passionate about his career or interests. He should be accepting of who I am and be mature enough to handle difficulties in life when they arise. I'd like someone who’s not afraid to be vulnerable, but can also be strong when needed.
