I grew up in South America (Way South!!) and have been here in NY for 13 years...here is "home" for me. I also lived in Chicago for 2 years where I went to graduate school, and a little over a year in the Bay Area, in California, where I also studied.
Although I have lived here in the US for 17 years altogether, I DO have an accent, sounds a tiny bit more like Italian than "Telemundo", just the nature of where I am from in South America....just Google "I Love Lucy", although I don't sound exactly the same, it's pretty, pretty close... ;).
I have a pretty eclectic professional background. I worked in investment banking and management consulting for 14 years. I also worked in the arts (a hobby which became a profession by being "in the right place at the right time" type of thing..). I acted in a few plays here in NYC and in Chicago, and goofed around for a couple of commercials in TV and radio (I did the whole SAG, AFTRA, AEA thing). BY FAR, the most rewarding experience of my life was working for a non-for-profit in East Los Angeles, teaching low income-high potential teenagers business and financial skills (what I witnessed there was incredible, and I am very grateful for that..). Teaching became my current profession and now I work as an instructor for investment banks and corporations where I teach investment banking valuation, capital markets, financial modeling, etc.
Used to be in active sports, played (note the "ed" after "play") rugby for many years, way back,...not anymore, so I will refuse to tackle you.... Love to watch the Giants now, since Football was the closest to Rugby I could find when I first moved....and I got hooked. I exercise when I can, not as much as I would like, so I am toned, not chiseled (Mario Lopez admirers, I am NOT the guy for you), but not half as bad for 41 year old guy as I thought I was going to be... All those pictures in my profile are all recent, so I really look that bad...
Now, about who would be "nice" to meet through this: Simple, just looking to connect with like-minded and smart people. Just don't take yourself too seriously and hopefully you are happy by yourself first and want to have fun or a smart conversation. I really don't think a date or person will bring you happiness to your life by itself...it just complements/enhances what is already there... Ability to laugh is a plus...
