A sense of humor is essential. I try to make other people laugh as much as possible. Bonus points if you make me laugh.

I'm allergic to zealots who want to convert you to their fad diets or zany beliefs. (Been there; endured that.)
The one real deal-breaker is right-wing conservatives. If "some other viewpoint" means Fox News, and if Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann are inspirational role models, it's not going to work.
