Me: idealistic, compassionate, lover of different cultures. I'm passionate about learning all languages and learning in general. I also love current events, non-profit work, independent/foreign film, art, moving my hips to drums, and pondering the meaning of life.
Most of all, I love to sing, act, and perform, which is convenient since I have to do all of these things to hold the interest of my students. I am an aspiring children's writer and middle school ESL teacher in Arlington. My daily goal is to inspire and engage my immigrant kids to love learning and to have a natural intellectual curiosity. My long term (albeit ambitious) goal is to pass on a love for reading to my kids, or at least show them that there is a purpose- as well as teach them to advocate for themselves and their communities. Currently, this has been a challenge because most of my boys are more interested in the topics of gangs and drugs. However, I live for the challenge and my students motivate me to search for relevant, appealing literature and eventually write my own stories for their demographic. I am fortunate to be able to say that I am passionate about what I do- and I AM what I do.
I'm also a big fan of comedy/humor. To illustrate, my favorite personalities/geniuses include Louis CK, Steven Colbert, Jon Stewart, Andy Samberg, Daniel Tosh (although he's a little too raunchy sometimes), and all of the actors from Workaholics, It's Always Sunny, and Portlandia. If you enjoy any of them, we'll definitely get along. I think a witty sense of humor equates intelligence.
You: articulate, ambitious, intellectually curious, yet socially conscious, cultured and caring. Above all, I want a compassionate man who I can respect on all levels. I was in a long term relationship 2 yrs ago and since I have dated a lot, so I know what I'm looking for :).
I would also like a big family some day :)
Also, I changed my body type to curvy (in a good way) as I'm athletic and work out several times a week. I'm just not some tiny, skinny white girl (see pics). I want somebody who will worship my curves (and who can handle them LOL).
