Hello. I am energetic, outgoing, motivated, good-natured, loyal, and funny and I am looking for someone with similar qualities.
My basics: I moved to DC from New England, and before that, I lived in Jersey. I am polite and professional, but let’s be real, that Jersey edge never truly leaves a person who grew up in the Garden State. I grew up in a large, Irish Catholic family and each of my siblings and my parents are hilarious. I never appreciated how great it is to be related to people who place a high premium on laughter and having fun until I joined the workforce. I have a bachelor’s in marine biology and a law degree where I focused on environmental law. I currently work on policy issues at a think tank and rarely use any of my formal education. Despite that underwhelming description of my job, I have a remarkably interesting job and was exceptionally fortunate to have this opportunity when I graduated law school in 2010.
Superfluous info: Water attracts me: the ocean, lakes, rivers. I love activities that bring me to the water, such as rowing, sailing, swimming, and bird-watching. I am becoming better and better at cooking and regularly have friends over to enjoy a meal. I love to periodically attend sporting events: Nats, Caps, college basketball. While I have a deep appreciation for professional and collegiate athletics, I have not closely followed a team through its season since watching UConn men’s basketball in high school. I have also been on a concert kick lately—most recently, I went to DropKick Murphys at the 9:30 Club. Don’t judge me. ;)
Who I'm Looking For: I am looking for someone with similar interests who is ambitious, respectful, fun, dynamic, and interesting. I’d like to be with someone who enjoys going out but does not want to drink all the time. I would like a someone who also has an interesting career, likes sports, and has a nerdy, esoteric hobby that he can teach me about. I want someone who preferably enjoys DC at this point in his life and also has a career he finds meaningful.
Who I am Definitely NOT Looking For: Men who ask me out in their initial message to me, men who write to me for months without ever asking me out, and men who are married, in a relationship, or otherwise unavailable.
