I am not your normal profile. I am trying this, but they censor my interests, desires, and character. I can tell you the vanilla things about me; like:
I am a professional in the computer field. I am not a help desk or desktop support person. I deal with those mysterious things behind the curtain.
I am fortunate with my career in that I get to telecommute 99% of the time. Some times it can be demanding and at other times there is nothing going on.
Usually I can keep things balanced fairly well. The biggest draw back to working from home is that there is a lacking in physical interaction with people.
I have a few hobbies or pursuits. I do a variety of photography both above and below water. Sometimes the photos are just that, photos. Other times they can be quite involved projects. Most of my photos stay hidden away just for a lack of time to process them.
I also scuba dive. I have found it to be a rare sport. It can be demanding in knowledge and physical gear, but once you are in the water you become weightless and peaceful. I am certified as a Master Scuba Diver, and diving has lead me to a lot of adventures both locally and through travel to tropical locales.
I participate in a performance art troupe, of which there are two chapters. One in Oakland and one here in LA. I am the current director of the LA chapter. We try to do several shows a year. It is a very alternative and eclectic art form. Some people find it spiritually enlightening and powerful. I have heard it said that people could feel the energy.
I have piercings and tattoos. Nobody ever thinks I have a professional job. I usually am asked if I am in a band or a tattooist or piercer. Piercings I do, do sometimes for brave volunteers.
I grew up here in LA on the Griffith Park hillside, but have lived on the East Coast and in the South. I tend to favor an alternative environment to that of the vanilla types. I like rock, gothic, industrial. Bands like Rammstein, VNV Nation, Suicide Commando, etc… But in all honesty, I will almost always be listening to an audiobook when I am by myself or driving or falling asleep.
