I’m a native to the Bay Area. I was raised in the South Bay, went to school in SoCal and moved back when I graduated. I’ve moved around over the years going from living beachside in Capitola/Aptos to the cities of San Francisco and London. More recently, I temporarily relocated back to SJ to be closer to my family and place of work.
While I'm happy and thankful for everything that I have in my life, I want the opportunity to share my life with that one special person. At this point in my life, I'm beyond the partying/ bar-hopping scene. If I'm going to a party or an event, I want to do it with my significant other. These days I enjoy the simpler things in life which aren’t accompanied by a horrible hangover the next morning...
I love to travel whether it’s a quick, spontaneous weekend jaunt up to Sausalito for Sunday brunch, wine tasting in Sonoma or a long weekend in Maui. I'm just as happy, though, to spend a relaxing weekend doing absolutely nothing but lounging, and cozying up on the couch watching movies. (Confession #1 - I've been told I have horrible taste in movies- I love B-rated movies of all kinds especially horror, sci-fi, fantasy, action, martial arts and raunchy/slapstick comedy (think South Park, Hangover, etc).
I like to stay active and work out 3-4 times a week whether it’s going to my fitness boot camp class, kickboxing, yoga, horseback riding or just taking my dog for a long walk at Point Isabel. My workouts are the perfect balance to my passion for finding new places to eat throughout Berkeley, Oakland and SF. Whether it’s a great new breakfast joint, the perfect fried chicken or new gem of a restaurant, I’m always up for the gourmet adventure!
While I may not watch eight hours of sports on TV (with the exception of potentially March Madness), I do enjoy going to live sporting events – especially basketball, football, and ice hockey. And while I grew up camping with my family and enjoy doing things outdoors, I am far from being the Hiker Camper Extraordinaire... I especially love the water regardless if I’m swimming, scuba diving or snowboarding. (Confession #2 - while I love doing things outdoors I do enjoy the creature comforts that come with staying at a nice resort where there is a fabulous pool and an awesome spa.)
What am I looking for in a man? I’m looking for a man who can appreciate my sarcastic humor and possesses a quick enough wit to banter back and forth with me on a variety of topics. While I enjoy spending time with my partner, I’m looking for a secure enough man who can be comfortable sharing time and space together without the need to constantly converse.
I don't have a prescribed physical image as my level of attraction is tied to overall chemistry (which, by the way, I feel can't be determined via email or text). I want a guy who is genuine, loving, open to trying different things, hard working, and as old fashioned as it may sound, a gentleman (I still dig a guy who can make dinner plans and open a door for a lady).
While I want someone I can share my highest highs and lowest lows with it’s important he doesn't take himself too seriously and is lighthearted enough to find joy in the simple pleasures in life and have some fun. Having a great sense of humor and the ability to poke fun at oneself (and me) is critical.
I like to keep my life relatively drama-free (especially on the dating front) and try to live by the simple mantra of "say what you mean, and mean what you say". Integrity and strength of character matter.
