One thing that helps keep my feet on the ground while my head is in the clouds is cycling (kayaking & running are close). There's no feeling quite like moving as fast as nearby cars, but under my own power, not to mention the solid physique...
I've always had an appreciation for nature, both its beauty and the concepts that are hidden within it - mathematics. The elegance and clarity of numbers makes me feel like a kid, exploring the world for first time all over again.
