I moved back to Shreveport in March after living in Houston for the past six months and Baton Rouge for many years before that. I was born and raised here, but I haven't lived here since I left for college at 17. I'm very curious to see what living in Shreveport as an adult is like.
I am very blunt and straightforward. I need someone who won't be scared away by my forwardness. I love to laugh and bad horror movies. I want someone who will be there for me through thick and thin. Loyalty is a big plus in my book. I am slightly a nerd, and I love people I can carry on a conversation with for hours. My motto is "get busy living or get busy dying" from my favorite movie, The Shawshank Redemption. I also am a sucker for When Harry Met Sally.
I am proud that I earned my master's in only a year, and I never want to stop learning new things. Right now I'm trying to figure out what career I want since I do have a tendency to change my mind often. Or at least I used to... I'm trying to grow out of my impulsiveness.
I am open to friendships or something long term. My main goal is happiness.
My family is very important to me, and I need someone who respects that. Of course they also drive me completely insane sometimes too.
Although I do not judge what other people believe, I personally believe in God. I haven't hammered out everything I actually believe yet, but I can say I am on the liberal side of things. I am pro marriage equality. Everyone deserves to be loved. I am open to all religious beliefs but not open to racism, hatred or homophobia. However, respect me and I will respect you.
I am desperately trying to work in law enforcement or the FBI since my goal in life is to be involved in the court system or investigations. I want to be a real-life superhero without the aid of a radioactive spider or nuclear waste. Being able to help people is something I enjoy and would love to do on a daily basis. As trite as it sounds, I really want to make a difference whether it is in one life or one million lives. My realistic dream is to work with juvenile offenders before they commit their first big crime. I feel the only way to positively affect the crime rate is to get to them young and offer something besides the streets.
I want a partner who is beside me, not behind or in front. Although I am very outgoing, I can still get shy, and I tend to have many awkward and klutzy moments. I am very polite and considerate, but I do put my foot in my mouth without meaning to more often than I would like.
I am a pretty awesome girlfriend because I don't play games or create drama for no reason. It helps that I am also a fairly good cook.
