It's taken me a little while to get used to this whole online dating thing and I'm still not completely convinced. I'm very old school when it comes to meeting people and I think you get more from an in-person meeting than reading facts online, but when all else fails...so if we pretend we actually met in person somewhere here's what I might chat about...
I will probably mention that old school thing about myself. I am a person who reads the actual newspaper. I get that I can read things quicker and possibly easier online, but I just like the idea of a Sunday morning in bed or on the sofa with the paper. I'm the same way with books. I'm not a kindle person or nook thing. I will actually go to a library to check out a book. I know it's a little quirky, but I think it's part of my charm. :o)
I will bring up sports, probably football. Yes I am a girl who actually watches football for the sport of it. I would talk about Penn State and the Steelers. I would tell you that I'm from Pennsylvania and I went to Penn State. My family still lives in PA. I have an older brother, which explains why I actually have football knowledge because when we watched football as kids you had to know the rules or you would get ridiculed for asking stupid questions. Ha! And yes this older brother rule still holds true today. But the football pictures taken in my profile were at games that I was at with my brother. So football is a fun family ritual we have that definitely keeps us close.
I'm a teacher. I teach second grade. I would definitely chat about how exhausting it is and how it sometimes brings on the need to veg at night in front of the TV with a glass of wine. So I can be pretty laid back after work hours. But I definitely still like to go out for dinners or drinks with friends. I also like going to the movies or concerts. I think the Fox and the Tabernacle are two of the best places to see a show.
So as far as what I'm looking for... like I said earlier, I think it's hard to sum up without actually meeting the person. But definitely someone who can make me laugh. Someone who is honest and cares about his friends and family...isn't that a given? You need to have that same combination of fun times going out mixed with relaxed nights at home. A fellow sports fan would be nice. And someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously. You definitely have to be able to laugh at yourself and look at the humor in life.
