I can be both very serious and lighthearted in the same conversation. When it comes to interacting with people from varying walks of life, I am a chameleon. Career oriented for sure but demand the proper balance. Friends will say I am smart, witty and love to make others laugh/smile. I'm very athletic, workout 5 - 6 days a week and am currently training for the 2013 LA Marathon. Often told I look significantly younger than my age and I certainly feel and act as though I am. It's just a number... I enjoy most outdoor activities, cooking (really), great food, great wine, travel, arts, many forms of music and quality time with a good book.
An ideal day for me can range from a hard run in the morning, to a nice cappuccino and a slow read of the paper, to an afternoon of surfing (still learning) or lounging at the beach and then ends with great conversation while cooking a great meal at home for that special someone. Also love to get out and see concerts or anything cultural. I volunteer at a few charity events every year and relish every second of it.
Travel and experiencing the vast world we live in is a passion of mine. I tend to enjoy long weekend jaunts versus one or two long trips per year (unless it is a long haul to Europe or anywhere towards the sunset).
I'm a single Dad. I have 2 wonderful boys who have enriched my life beyond my wildest dreams. I have a great, healthy co-parenting relationship with their Mom. I have them a few days per week but my schedule is very flexible. We are able to juggle schedules in order to support our social lives. A happy and fulfilled ME makes for a better Dad. Want to address that part of my life up front.
I don't have a "type". Women are beautiful in so many different ways. That being said, obviously I want to find someone with similar interests. Living a healthy lifestyle and staying fit is definitely a "must have" for me. The person in my life should want someone special in their life, but does not seek to be totally dependent on that person. I believe in a proper balance in life. I want someone who can't wait to see me, but also enjoys their personal time. I don't believe that a perfect match is out there. Nobody is perfect. It is the meshing of two distinct people that makes a relationship unique and special.
One last thing, chivalry is far from dead in my book. However, I am not in the least bit intimidated by a strong, confident woman who takes the initiative. If you find me first, by all means, say hello!!
