Howdy there, hope your search for a good match is going well! So about me: About 10 years ago, I was drawn in to the bay area by the enticing food scene. A very fond memory was the first time a friend took me to Berkeley Bowl; the abundance and variety of fruits and vegetables totally blew my mind, I knew I had found a good place to be. Since moving out here, I have studied cooking, worked at a handful of fun places (including an internship at Chez Panisse) and then got the opportunity to help open a small dessert shop in Berkeley. We have been open about 6 years; it is awesomely challenging and rewarding to run a small business, and I feel lucky to have found a career that suits me and that I enjoy so much! Cooking is one of my favorite things to do, I will not pretend to be some amazing chef that will transcend all eating experiences to a new level, but I sure have fun trying. Before the yearlong, meandering road trip that brought me out to California, (that was a fun, a story for another time) I was living in Brooklyn, attending art school. About 2 ? years into that path and I decided it was not for me, as fun as hanging out with a bunch of crazy and artistic people was, I could not foresee a viable career in the field, and felt the education department was lacking. Painting was my forte at the time, but really, I just love working with my hands, making things fixing things. Mediums I have dabbled in (or at times drowned in!) include pottery, quilting, woodworking, crochet, metal/welding; I hope the list continues to grow! If you are good with a table saw/like building things, give me a wink (I could use a little help in that department. haha!) It seems traveling is on the minds of many people, so I suppose I should touch on that. Growing up, I had the fortunate luck to travel a fair amount. Our family took trips as simple as camping in the nearest mountains or as deluxe as boating around the Galapagos Islands. In addition, there was that aforementioned yearlong road trip around the US. As it has happened though, I have not made it a priority to vacation/travel much recently. That said, there is the occasional trip to Tahoe (I ski, rather poorly, but enthusiastically; and I can soak in a hot tub with the best of them!) or off to be with family during the holidays. It is absolutely a goal of mine to travel more in the future, so I hope to find someone to do that with someday! If I have peeked your interest, wink or send a message! cheers! Submitted from mobile
