One’s destination is never a place, but rather a new way of looking at things. That’s what Henry Miller said, and I feel playing life out fully and constantly creating possibilities bring us new destinations. I think being in the moment is a rare virtue so I like being inspired and I try to inspire others to see past their potential. I studied engineering at Caltech and USC and now design devices to help people walk. I also love music- I’ve recently started composing electronic music and find sound design to be an expression of the beauty behind engineering.
I strongly believe in the power of community, and that ultimate happiness lies in being a leader in something that you can passionately contribute to. I'm currently putting together a workshop to teach kids math through music. I believe combining arts with today’s technology has the ability to transform education.
I'm also an avid traveler and a romantic. In travel I long for an adventure, and I don't do well in crowded lines awaiting some tourist attraction that's a must-see. I'd rather be getting lost on a moped in a desolate island in the Mediterranean in the rain, or picking a provincial manor house in southern France for a night stay and drinking wine from unmarked bottles. I figure I'll have plenty of time in my life to stay on the beaten path.
I feel you need to share yourself with people in order to grow. I feel that people discover my childish innocence and feel freer being around me. Because I remind them of the simpler times, when things were slow enough to leave a sense of being, instead of an ephemeral flash to which we give little attention down the line.
I'll tell you this much, I have a lot of room in my life for people. I may not completely open myself up to you in the beginning, but spend a few days with me and you'll find that I'm full of interesting surprises.
