Who I am in a couple paragraphs... here goes! Born in Maryland, grew up in Washington State, went to college in southern California, lived in Boston for the past 8 years... and recently moved to Chicago (U-Haul, car trailer, the whole 9-yards). My current client is still in Boston and a new one in Texas, so I travel for a few days each week. Always back for the weekends!
About me – I'm driven and focused when it's needed (for work, paying taxes, playing pictionary, writing profiles), but quick to relax, have fun, and not think about work when I'm not at the office. I’m laid back by nature but get excited about new opportunities – like jumping in a car to move across the country with a week's notice, starting up a website with a friend, travelling across Asia by myself for work. I definitely have a spontaneous streak - heading out on last-minute road trip or beach get-a-way, jumping on a plane to visit one of my sisters, or heading to the store to buy chervil because I saw it on the food network (uggg, it's gross).
I'm liberal on social issues but will never avoid a good discussion – I can be convinced if you’re convincing! Orange is my favorite color. By far. I prefer bars/lounges over clubs, the outdoors over indoors, smarties over M and Ms. I'm shockingly tone deaf but like all sorts of music. I wish I went to more concerts. I tried karaoke once with horrible consequences (I'm sure I'll do it again...). I love to cook and make up recipes with whatever is around the kitchen – never tastes the same way twice. I am getting better at eating vegetables.
A few of my goals:
- Get my Open Water Scuba Certification (done!)
- Take a surfing lesson (done!)
- Replace my stolen bike with a new one (old one was falling apart anyway... karma...)
- Learn more about wine -- I'm embarrassingly uneducated but I'm pretty good at faking
My ideal match – strong opinions but open minded, thoughtful (good tipper), passionate about reaching her goals, proud of her career, optimist, keeps me on my toes, silly streak, health-conscious, self-confident, can dish out sarcasm as well as take it, and cool with nights in relaxing on equal footing as nights out.
