I love to laugh and find joy in the small things in life. I'm looking for someone who has a passion, family oriented, and enjoys music and the little things in life as much as I do!
I recently finished up my course work for getting my Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership and Educational Technology. I am a passionate first grade teacher and I've been teaching for 10 years.
Now that I'm done with my Masters, I want to learn how to read music and play at least one instrument (piano and/or guitar). I am always listening to music (in the car, at home, during breaks at work...sometimes I'll even put on classical music for my students during reading/writing time). I am always eager to learn new things (I mean, I AM an educator, right?), so why learn music?!
Favorite bands: Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley (I listen to and love all music though!)
When not at work, you can find me spending time with family and friends, at a coffee shop, at the beach practically every day in the summer, reading a book or magazine, listening to music, playing the wii, watching football or baseball (either on tv or at a game), or at a local bar for a couple drinks with friends.
Movies: My all-time favorite (don't laugh) is "The Wizard of Oz." Other favorites include "The Shawshank Redemption," "50 First Dates," "Almost Famous," and "The Hangover."
TV Shows: Modern Family, Lost (yes, I'm currently re-watching the series on DVD), So You Think You Can Dance, pretty much anything on the Travel Channel and Food Network.
I am a kid at heart...I'd have to be to teach first graders and surround myself with 6- and 7-year-olds all day! I even Nanny on the side as an extra income and love those kids with all my heart.
You will usually find me smiling and laughing. Laughter is the best medicine. I'm always cracking jokes and just a warning...they are usually corny!
