ME: I just moved back to the western suburbs of Chicago after spending the last 3 years stationed out in Hawaii with the military. I already miss the sunny, warm days, but it's great to be back home near family. I currently teach leadership courses at the collegiate level developing future military officers. I love investing in the in my students' lives. I'm an avid outdoorsman...hunting, fishing, surfing, golfing, hiking, etc. One item on my bucket list is to hike the entire Appalachian Trail in one shot, but I figure I'll need 4-6 months off from work, which probably won't be happening anytime soon. I live a very active and healthy lifestyle, working out daily and eating well. I always enjoy a thought provoking conversation over coffee or a beer. I'm a bit of a political junkie, but always welcome an opposing opinion. I keep up on current events, so you better come prepared! I love to laugh and joke around all the time. It can sometimes get me in trouble in my profession, since everyone around me is so up tight, but I still do it anyway. I believe life should be spent smiling and enjoying being with others. YOU: As far as dating (since that's kind of why we're on here), I'm over the games and ignoring deal-breakers. There's no point to dragging things out just because you want to be in a relationship. Dating should be fun, and there's no greater feeling than love. I'm looking for someone who's laid back and confident in who she is. I also think it's important that our life priorities and beliefs line up...God, family, friends, and a passion for your career (whatever it may be). I'm now at a point in my life where I'd like to settle down and start a family of my own in the next few years. I believe that relationships are about both people selfless giving and committing to one another. It's kind of counter-intuitive, but if you both give unconditionally the finer details just seem to figure themselves out on their own. But regardless of how interests may appear to line up, there has to be chemistry. The excitement and anticipation of seeing one another should never fade. All that being said, I haven't found bars to be the best place to start a lasting and meaningful relationship, so I figured I'd give this a shot. What have I got to loose? If you think we might be a good fit, I'd love to hear from you.
