I've been told I have a lot of layers, and when you go down a few, you'll discover lots of unbridled curiosity and mischief potential (especially with the right partner in crime!).
While I am not completely left of center, I have a deep appreciation for those who are and gravitate toward them.
I'm not a big talker, but with the right person or group I can enjoy some great banter. I am really interested in good conversation, and have a great range of interests - art, culture, life, travel, food, music, and wine for starters. I enjoy poking fun at life and scoffing about its ironies. And I DO see the ironies.
I am American but I really enjoy spending time with others who have traveled or lived abroad. I grew up in NY and have lived in the Southeast for more than half my life now. I moved to Atlanta a year ago from North Carolina, where I spent many years, beginning with college in Chapel Hill. My interests in language and other cultures have manifested themselves in my career choice as an ESL teacher. I now work at a university in Atlanta, helping international students adjust to academics in the US.
I am quite independent and accustomed to following my heart and trying out any interests that grab me. I am something of a risk-taker and do not usually settle for mediocrity. My screen name is and Italian word for "Let's cross over."
I have enjoyed many travels (2 trips a year is my preference), and would like to do more. That goes along with my insatiable curiosity and desire to explore. I frequently feel restless and bored with everyday reality, and am always looking for things to capture my interest. I gravitate toward the beach, and fantasize about living as an expatriate in Costa Rica.
I have always been active, and have enjoyed numerous types of activities over the years, ranging from gymnastics to field hockey to running to mountain biking and now yoga. I enjoy trying all variations of yoga available in Atlanta, including aerial yoga (!). I also enjoy watching pro soccer, preferably at a pub with a friendly neighborhood crowd. (This interest doesn't extend to American football, though).
I am divorced with no children, but I enjoy them (especially looking at the world through their eyes) and would be willing to explore the possibility of parenthood (although not with my own kids at this point!). Home and stability are important to me; I need to feel connected and rooted.
I'm interested in spending quality time with people who have intelligence, creativity, wit, and humor, and who are physically fit.
I'm going to stop now, but please message me if you would like any further elaboration!
