ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

Hi there:) I’m an open-minded, enthusiastic, affectionate person interested in meeting someone with a like mind for learning and experiencing all kinds of new things. People usually think I’m younger than I am, and I would definitely like to find someone equally young at heart. I love to laugh (with others and at myself), have an avid interest in music (just about all kinds - most of all rock and least of all rap) and enjoyment of the outdoors (during all seasons – yes, even winter). In general, I prefer human-powered activities to motor sports, but can have fun doing just about anything with the right company. I had a blast from my mid-twenties to mid-thirties living in Florida, but I’m also happy to be back home with my family, which is very important to me. I’ve traveled more than a lot of people I know, but there are so many more places I want to visit. I’m on a mission to improve my health – I want to live a long time because there’s so much left to do! (I'm not in poor health at all - just trying to eat more whole/raw foods, and working my way toward "athletic and toned")

How would my friends and family describe me? Well, here are some of their own words: generous, funny, smart, curious, a good listener, caring, loyal, cool (thanks to my niece for that!), and a mean cook (mean being kick-a**, not ornery :) - my brother's expression). I hope to find you open and honest, trustworthy and dedicated, with a sense of humor and fun-loving spirit, and intelligent with a desire to keep learning. I hope that we already share some common interests, but also that we have some unique ones, so that we can both have new experiences and learn from eachother. I want us both to be glad that we went down this path, wherever it leads.

I’ll tell you anything you want to know about me, but I won’t assume that you want to know that much unless you ask. I’m much better with people one-on-one than in groups. (I usually come across as shy in those situations, which is partially true, but really it’s more of an interest in listening and learning about other people than in talking about myself.) I value open and honest communication; in fact I don’t believe you can have a successful relationship without it. I believe strongly in karma and the Golden Rule (Do unto others…); also in talking it out, offering and accepting apologies and forgiveness with sincerity and respect, and then moving on! The past is important because of what we learn and how we grow from it, but I'd rather focus on the present

Why never married (people inevitably ask)? Oh, I don't know - I suppose because life is complicated and messy, things always change, and there are no guarantees? Certainly not because I didn't want to be. I'm all about a long-term committed relationship

To any of you devoted fathers who may be concerned that I'm not a fan of children based on those canned profile answers - please don’t be. I have tremendous respect for the responsibility you’re taking, and fully understand and expect that your children will come first, always. I wanted to have children when I was younger, but for various reasons that didn’t happen. At my current age, I feel “that ship has sailed”, as they say. Does that mean that I couldn’t wholeheartedly welcome someone else’s children into my life? Of course I could! I have several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews, and they have always been a part of my life - from sleepovers with the younger ones, to tutoring one of my nieces so she could pass her math Regents exam, to being a sounding board for the older ones

I’m a self-sufficient and independent woman, fortunate to have what I consider to be a very good life filled with lots of family and friends, and I would love to have someone special to share it with. If you’d be interested to find out if we might click, I’d love to hear from you. If you read all the way to here, you get points for patience/stamina, and I thank you
