So, I just moved to the area in OCT (2012) and pretty quickly was sent out of town to work for a few months and should be back in early May. So, I'm still on match, but not local to NOVA for another few months. The abbreviated version of "about me" -; grew up on Long Island, NY, spent several years in the Air Force, transitioned to government contractor and just moved to NOVA..
I enjoy what I do and have worked hard, maybe too hard at pints in the past. I've come to a point in my life where I want to love what I do, but work to live, not the other way around anymore.
I really enjoy doing things outdoors, hiking was a passion before I moved from San Diego and am hoping to do it more often with the pending move. Over the last few years I've started running, picking a few 10k or 1/2 marathons a year, to keep the motivation. I just ran the 2012 Army 10 miler and was registered for the Nike inaugural women's half marathon in DC, but due to injuries in both calves that haven't recovered fast enough no joy. So, I'll be looking for a race probably late summer to allow for recovery time.. I am not afraid to get dirty (done a mud run), but love to get dressed up for a night out. I would wear flip flops to work if I could, but need an excuse to wear a great pair of heels.
Love, LOVE to travel; climbed Mount Fuji, spent a couple vacations diving the Great Barrier Reef Australia, a tiny bit of Europe (Spain and Italy) and Belize to name a few! I've worked hard and been afforded some fabulous opportunities in life with great learning experiences. Spent a bit of time in the middle east, spent time defending what I believe in and spent time enjoying the benefits that come from that.
What am I looking for? Chemistry and attraction seem like givens. So, beyond that someone to share future great experiences. You understand a willingness to communicate are critical. I'm looking for someone who has goals and motivation, but can take a minute to enjoy life. I don't want to be with someone who's a "workaholic" and can't seem to find any free time. You should be interested in fitness, funny, romantic, independent, adventurous, and open minded. I know there's someone out there who has these qualities.
