Cultural short-hand: I'm more Elvis Costello than Elvis Presley. I'm more Captain America than Superman (I'm loyal but I can't move planets for you). I am Captain Kirk AND Mister Spock (I am emotional and analytical. But if it is a toss-up, I'll go with my heart over my head every time.). I'm more Mad Men than Mad Max (but wouldn't that be an interesting movie if they mixed those together!).
My passions of late: Running – two half-marathons and one marathon in the last year. Painting – I can't draw, but I love pop art and post-modern art. I just took up painting last year. I've painted about 15 paintings in the last year. Some I like, some I like less. But painting itself – I love it!
Writing – I've started that elusive best-seller many times. This is the year I finish it. Optimism beats the alternative!
Newest 2013 addiction: getting my brain exercise each day with lumosity and fitbrains. My lumosity BPI is up to 1145. If that doesn't get your attention, ladies! Actually for all I know that may be village idiot-level!
What I'm looking for is someone who is fit (mind and body), who is confident without being too confident. Warm-hearted and slow-tempered are a plus. But I don't want to elaborate too much. I don't have a laundry list to check off. I want surprise and joy and a little mystery (but not a dark past). Put simply, if you are confident in who you are. If you can have fun. If you can be silly and serious (sometimes right back-to-back!). If you care about continually learning and exploring and feeling and loving in this life, we will get along fine.
2013 has been very good so far.
Replaced the old pickup truck for a new automobile -- check. Bonus and nice raise at work -- check. Named employee of the quarter -- check. Debt-free and happy -- check.
