Something I've noticed navigating this site is that a lot of the people dating in the Washington, D.C. area aren't from here at all. Well, I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA; and if you're looking for a good pub or sports bar to check out with some new company, maybe I can be your date. I'm an easygoing, fun-loving freelance writer/editor - so intelligent, free-flowing conversation is a must. I love wit and humor, and I love sports; I'm a die-hard Nationals and Redskins fan, and it's my dream to one day make it into sports journalism. As a side job I currently write WWE/pro wrestling articles for Bleacher Report and Diva-Dirt. Yes, you read that correctly: I write about World Wrestling Entertainment. When I'm not watching sports, you'll most likely find me at the gym, writing/reading at home or out and about with my friends. I'm not a hard core gym rat, but I like to keep in shape, and I would love to become a better runner. I love spontaneity and surprises, and I don't always like being in charge of plans: sometimes I want an adventure. I enjoy a good bar/pub more than I do nightclubs, and my number one spot is Murphy's in Old Town Alexandria. I feed off having a fun atmosphere around me and love to have a good (but not crazy) time. But I'm just as comfortable having a quiet night at home in pjs watching TV or a movie. Speaking of movies, I tend to like comedies and superhero flicks the best. Anything Will Farrell is good in my book; I can't see an Applebee's without thinking of Talladega Nights. As for what I'm looking for, that would be a guy with a good head on his shoulders and an honest, genuine heart who isn't afraid to live a fun life and make fun of himself. A willingness and ability to communicate are essential, as are passion, drive and a good sense of humor. If you can make me laugh, you're golden. I admire a guy who's close with his family and isn't afraid to show it. I'm an only child, but have a huge extended family with over 60 cousins; no, I'm not exaggerating on that! I'm extremely close with my father, as he essentially raised me as a single parent. But don't worry, he's not scary at all ;) Overall, I don't just want a relationship - I want a best friend to potentially share life with. But the first step is, of course, getting to know each other :)
