**My age is actually 40, the reason for the difference is that when I list my age as 40, I am getting a ton of messages from much older women (45 ). Honestly, this is not what I'm looking for. I'm hoping by listing my age as younger, I might actually find women within my age group.**
I love all that life has to offer including the ups and the downs. You can only learn from the downs and be grateful for the ups, right? I like to stay active by taking my dog on hikes (usually at Runyon) and biking by the beach in Venice and Santa Monica. Sometimes i'll go long board skating, too. (If you can't skate, I'll teach you, or you can rollerblade.) I've been obsessed with photography and the cinema since a young age. I'm always up for seeing a film at one of LA's many great theaters and then spending some time analyzing it after. I find film to be a modernist reflection of our society and interpersonal relationships. Sorry, I didn't mean to get too philosophical! I really enjoy fields like psychology and sociology. I am curious about how the world works. I try to read about current events, both global and local on a daily basis. I love to stay informed about our ever changing world. But I try not to get to bogged down in the seriousness of it, I DVR Jon Stewart and Colbert every night. You have to laugh at the craziness! I am also a supporter of the arts and I enjoy museums, new exhibits, plays and all forms of expression. My idea of lazy would be watching Seinfeld reruns in the afternoon.
Although I enjoy fine dining, and Abbott Kinney is a favorite spot, I also enjoy home cooking and shopping at farmer's markets. I really like supporting the local farmer and I'm not a fan of big corporate food companies (see the documentary Food Inc., for more info). I try to eat healthy as best I can. Your body is your temple! I enjoy almost any cuisine, from good ole BBQ on the campfire, to worldly exotic dishes and even raw vegan/vegetarian.
As far as work is concerned, I was a freelance film/television production person for about 10 years. I now have a full time camera operator job with a very well established company. It's a new experience for me to have a full time gig after all these years, but I'm really enjoying it. I used to travel a lot and I never felt very rooted in LA. It has all changed now that I have a regular schedule. I guess that is what happens when you hit a certain age? I guess I'm an old soul, i'm like a taller Woody Allen, with less complaining and I know my way around a car engine.
