Like a cat that always seems to land on her feet, I will always have such good fortune. For, I know that my fortune is determined only by me. Dependent upon one's attitude and perspective on life, we each have the ability to create a little magic and good fortune in our lives.
I feel it everyday, in my job assisting a birth, inspiring a student and empowering them through education, running while the sun sets, making someone who is grieving smile, building a friendship with someone whom you assumed had no connection, sharing a laugh even if you don't share the same language, looking at stars through a telescope and realizing the world is so vast, sitting on your board watching a wave build while imagining the outrageous ride, being intimate and wild with someone you love, making a difference in another one's life through compassion, being enlightened by a great book, admiring trees that have stood strong for thousands of years, learning more about the environment that you live in just when you thought that you knew it all, and anything else that makes you pause for just a moment, making you feel lucky to be alive...
I am a traveling nurse, and I have been traveling for the past few years. As some people like to collect art,...I prefer collecting experiences. Consumed by the desire for constant change, I have a difficult time standing still. I live in a state of evanescence. My mission? To inspire people to recognize and appreciate every opportunity in life, to make a meaningful and profound difference in other people's lives, and to leave no stone unturned in this magnificent journey.
So what am I looking for in my match? A nature lover, a wanderer? A water lover, a surfer? Then we will get along just fine! Having a true passion for surfing can connect people of any nationality, religion, political group or gender, simply by sharing that common desire to be challenged by the next big wave. I also favor people who are curious, wise, unique, athletic, charismatic, and occasionally a bit CRAZY. Those who understand that money and tangible items are eventually meaningless. Those who believe in synergistic relationships. Those who practice pro-activity, not inactivity. I choose to surround myself with people who recognize that we are not here on this earth as individuals, but as a community. People who care about the environment. People who are KIND to their neighbors. And most importantly, people who SMILE, it makes you wonder what they've been up to! :)
And, because I am FAR from perfect, I would never want, or expect, my partner to be! Our imperfections are what make us UNIQUE! And, the more unique, the better. I prefer the old adage... "Normal" is just a setting on the dryer. After all, isn't it the intricate little details of a person that makes the largest impression?
For example...I have LITTLE plumeria painted on my toenails. And, I call everything "LITTLE", even though it is truly "NORMAL" size. And, I admire the Great Houdini, for his incredible ability to escape from handcuffs, straitjackets, the Chinese Water Torture Cell, and simply disappear, even mid-sentence...
