I've been in the Bay Area for nine years now after growing up in New Mexico and going to college/grad school in Boston. The combination of weather, location, and culture is pretty tough to beat.
I spend a lot of time rock climbing. Climbing is so fun and addictive, like solving a puzzle that has several solutions. I'm mainly into sport climbing and bouldering, but I would be willing to learn trad climbing if I had a partner.
I like to stay active and also enjoy hiking, backpacking, running, and yoga. I went hiking at Banff and Jasper National Parks earlier this year and I've climbed recently at the Red River Gorge and near Bishop.
My other interests include photography, baking, and cooking. I've gotten pretty good at making French macarons, especially with a salted butter caramel filling. :P
I'm also into fashion and I follow several forums and style blogs. I prefer high quality, smaller labels that don't have the markup of mainstream names.
In general, I like to keep things chill and low-key. Dinner/drinks, a day hike, or chatting over coffee/dessert. Simple pleasures are often the best. I am usually up for doing anything, as long as it's with good company. I use Yelp religiously and I'm approaching 500 reviews.
I'm at a great place in my life right now. I have a solid and stable career, a few small circles of good friends, and a wonderful and supportive family. I was in Phoenix for Thanksgiving and my 20 month old niece is impossibly cute.
My perfect match is well-educated, easy going, ambitious, and relatively fit. A good sense of humor is a must, as well as a love for the outdoors and traveling. She has to be down to earth and nice, but not too nice. A little rough around the edges is good and keeps things interesting.
