I love walking. All over Chicago, in any weather. For me there is something so relaxing and wonderful about experiencing things on foot. But sometimes life moves faster than a retired couple on a Florida beach. I like that too. I exercise a lot - run, swim and practice yoga. Swimming being the favorite.
I have a daily meditation practice that has given me a strong awareness of self. It has reshaped my thinking in a way I never thought possible. To sit alone peacefully with oneself, being observer of one's own thoughts and emotions and to not get swept up in them is quite amazing.
The arts are something I have a deep respect and passion for, all of them, theater, music, dance, painting.... You might find me enjoying one of them on any given weekend.
I like to know what motivates other people and how their dreams got them to where they are now.
I love learning about people and want to meet someone that can teach me about the things they like. What do you like to do? Sing in the shower? Dance to George Michael songs at the end of the day to de-stress? Cook? Garden? Throw pottery? As long as it is unique to you it is something to be appreciated.
I like conversing, but I really appreciate the art of conversation - and of listening. My closest friends would say that is one of my best attributes. The art of laughing is quite fantastic as well.
I believe in a relationship that is built on a foundation of trust and although we both may have baggage from our past we are able to take responsibility for each of ours and not expect the other to solve, but be there to support.
I love feeling that deep connection to another that transforms any normal night into something romantic. To be able to come home and just be present with that other. That single glance, that smile in the eyes, that knowing....that's what it's all about.
