I like to consider myself real. My glass is half full, so I always assume everything will turn out just fine. My friends would describe me as easy to get along with, always smiling/laughing and an animated storyteller. I'm most drawn to people who are out-going, funny, passionate, open-minded and adventurous. I'm a sucker for a good conversationalist too. I love to respect the way someone thinks.
I'm always doing something active - I'll spend the whole day outside hiking, biking, snowboarding, in the ocean, etc. I have great family and friends to do it all with, but would love a partner who thrives on this stuff too. My ideal relationship is one where we can't stop thinking of new things to experience together. Learning how to golf and surf are on my list, so it would be awesome if you're any good at either!
My match–we entertain each other with stimulating and meaningless banter just the same. Perfect blend for me is a manly man in touch with some part of his fem side - i think it's so sexy when a man loves to cook or entertain or spoon. Actually, a good spoon is non-negotiable. I'm not so crazy about "I-need-my-space-on the-other-side-of-the-bed" sleepers.
Nothing captivates me more than smart wit (humor requires intelligence). I like people with a passion towards creativity too, whether it be their own, or appreciating it from others. I'm always currently obsessed with some new interest myself - photography, painting, green product ideas, writing, sewing (have my own machine), cooking (I'm Italian so it's in the DNA), etc. Basically, I like it when someone has a tendency to get passionate about everything they like or like to do. Romance is also very important - a great kisser will melt me.
I think there are a lot of great people out there, but it's not so easy to find one you can get lost in for hours. I really do like well rounded, adventurous people because life has many different facets.
Oh - I live in the West Village and I'm happy to make a good friend or two with similar interests as well. Might as well work this site for all it's worth.
Lastly, please have a photo. When I see that gray shadow head instead of a pic it really creeps me out in a kidnapper/stalker kind of way.
