I enjoy life and enjoy spending time with people who do the same. I have a pretty sweet deal as an engineer working at a job that doesn't require crazy hours (something that seems to be unheard of around DC). This means that I get to enjoy my weekdays along with my weekends.
I grew up in the DC area and definitely am happy to be back here after years at college in upstate NY. I do live in Clarendon (that place across the river that my friends in the city swear I made up). I would live in DC if I could, but it is too far from work, so...I live in Arlington.
I like talking to strangers. Sometimes they even talk back. The last metro home might be my favorite part of going out in DC. At no other time is DC so friendly.
I like to keep my weekends busy. Sitting at home all day on the weekends does not interest me and I am always looking to go to a concert, or a wine festival, or music festival, or Nats game, or jazz in the garden, or movie, or brunch, or whatever is happening that weekend that will get me out of my apartment. During the week, I love trivia. My team changes a lot but I go pretty much every week.
When I am sitting still, I really really like watching movies. I am always down to watch any movie ... multiple times, even the bad ones (especially the really really bad ones). I keep relatively healthy -- running, playing basketball, going to the gym, etc. That being said, I love food, all food...a lot. Seriously all of it. My favorites are usually Asian foods and I can never get enough sushi.
I like to cook. I never stick to recipes but I can make some things that are pretty tasty. Also, wine always makes food taste better.... and cooking more fun.
