Hi…New to dating and new to Pittsburgh and trying to get used to both. I moved here a year ago from New York, just outside of Manhattan, where I had lived my entire life. I have three boys--ages 16, 14 and 11--and they live with their mother in Mt. Lebanon. I have my own place very close by, as it's extremely important to me to try to be the best father that I can possibly be and me and their mother both strive to make these significant changes in their lives as easy and livable as possible for them.
I'm admittedly pretty quirky, but most people think in a "good" way, rather than a "weird" way. I collect art and books from some pretty obscure artists and writers that few people probably have ever heard of. I also have an endless source of trivial and information about completely useless topics.
I guess I am just looking to meet some interesting people (in this case, women, or better yet, a woman) here to get to know and hang out with. Who knows where any of this might take us. I do tend to have more close friendships with women as I generally find them to be smarter and more interesting than many men I know. I got my masters degree in fiction writing from a a very small, if historic, liberal arts college where, as a straight male, I was in the vast minority. So, at a pretty young age I learned the importance of appreciating strong women and people with diverse lifestyles, cultures and beliefs.
While physical attraction is usually something that drives connections, I am much more interested in chemistry and my gut reaction is generally pretty accurate. The most important things for me are a great sense of humor, openness, honesty and above everything else, intelligence. That may sound elitist, but it is what it is. If you are even the tiniest bit racists, homophobic, a fan (!) of the Fox channel, a pot or coke head, or stridently religious, let's just not waste each others time.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this, and I you think there might be something here to merit a cup of coffee or drink, please let me know. At any rate, I wish you all the best luck in your search for a new phase in your life.
