I love music! My iPod is filled with an eclectic mix of musicians – from Jack Johnson to Jack White. And even though I’m no longer a young 20-something, I’ve been having fun exploring the local live venues, and camping out at area music festivals. I dance in my living room, I dance when I vacuum.
I am a big movie buff. So much so, that I bought a big screen TV just to enjoy Netflix and Redbox movies (and, of course some college football!). I turn the lights down low, light some candles, snuggle under the blankets, partake in my guilty pleasure of peanut MMs and popcorn while watching the latest flicks.
I’m in awe of new technology! I can’t live without my iPhone or iPad. How did we ever survive before programmable coffee makers, DVRs, and text messaging???
And Raleigh – I LOVE Raleigh! Despite being a native Hoosier, I consider Raleigh my “hometown.” I recently moved back after a 12 year absence. I’ve lived all over NC (including a short stint in VA), but believe Raleigh has it all. I love the people, the public schools, the city parks/greenways, the museums, the downtown festivals, the craft breweries, the state farmer’s market . . . I could go on and on! I especially appreciate Raleigh as it is the hub to our universities, our government, and emerging industries.
I’m discovering my joy for cooking and though it’s not good on the waist-line, I lean towards the Midwestern comfort foods I was raised on. However, give me some collard greens, pimento cheese, and pickled okra, and I’m a happy girl.
I have an incredible network of friends that I am so happy to personally re-connect with. It’s been exhilarating to laugh so hard again that I’m falling out of a chair at a coffee shop, to engage in an intellectual conversation during a fabulous meal and a bottle of wine at Poole’s Diner, or to just groove to the music with friends at the Lincoln Theatre.
And my work . . . I love my work! I’m back to focusing on my career, and I’m at the top of my game. I’m well-respected and my experience/expertise is sought out by many. I always thought my success was due to my hard work and ambition, but I’ve now come to the conclusion that I am smarter than your average bear.
So why am I here? Well, it’s been four years and I’m ready for a little companionship and intimacy. I’m not looking down the road; just want to enjoy the here and now. I have two fabulous boys, ages 7 and 13 . . . and we are a happy family (along with our crazy dog!). Not to say there’s no room for more, but just want to take it one day at a time.
If you are seeking someone who is fun, loving, confident, smart, ambitious and independent. . . then let’s give it a try! Who knows, we may just surprise ourselves.
