I'm a soulful, "t-shirt & jeans" type of guy looking for a nice girl to share my time with and it's just that simple. I've been called "complex" and I suppose that I am. I'm a deep thinker and anyone in my life would attest to my patience, willingness to listen and offer advice. I'm an introvert by nature but have always found success in leadership roles; I think that's a testament to my integrity and individualism. I'm an "against the grain" kinda guy who used to rock a mohawk, yell in hardcore bands and doesn't always go by the book. I believe that talk is cheap, people are defined by their actions and the most meaningful rewards are those not coveted. I want to know who you are as a person, your hobbies, your passions, what gives you goosebumps and makes you smile.
An Executive Chef of 15 years recently taking the entrepreneurial route. I decided ego and a fat paycheck could no longer silence what matters most to me and that's quality of life. I woke up one day and my 20's went up in smoke! The hours are grueling, I missed out on time with friends, family, holidays, etc. Professional cooking is in my future and when the time comes I'll be sure to find balance of work and play. For now I'm a dealer of (mostly) primitive antiques and folk art. I'm my own boss and I'm enjoying my sabbatical. Incidentally my budget is tight so whoever I go out with needs to understand we won't be eating out every night...but HEY I'm a CHEF remember!!! ;)
I was married for 5 years and that, too, was a casualty of my unforgiving restaurant schedule. We lost our connection and realized we were better off as friends. Our split was as amicable as could be and we remain close friends. I feel that was important to explain since the term "divorce" automatically makes people think someone did something terrible which was not the case.
I love nature and find the best entertainment outdoors. Watching a storm brew, my feet crunching fall leaves, the smell of my hands after climbing a tree, sweating over fresh tilled soil, campfires!! I envy the subsistence lifestyle, one of my favorite quotes comes from mountain man/naturalist Eustace Conway, "People ask what I do for a living, I live for a living".
I can't say who my perfect match is, I haven't met her yet. Someone intrinsically wholesome, affectionate, kind, patient, with hobbies and interests. Health conscious and fit is important to me also. I do like a "girly girl" who isn't afraid to sweat on a hike or get muddy in the garden.
