ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

Friends describe me as quiet, but I'm not really shy so much as introverted. I work for a Fortune 500 company as a software programmer; you can find my favorite project on the Mac App Store, but I work on iOS toys in my private time. I have the typical "engineer personality", so yes, I'm always right. :P I'm really big on running so I'd describe myself as active/fit. I love the English language and appreciate the mastery of it... ideas and logic engage me more than gossip; I don't watch 'American Idol', and I cringe at 'Jersey Shore' (but don't make the mistake of thinking I don't catch the latter now and then. Sinfully funny. I feel like I need to do a few hail-Marys for purgation after an episode.) I fall in love way too easily and stick around in a broken relationship way too long!... (eternal optimist syndrome!). I would never start a sentence with "I would never"; except maybe this one and one having to do with sky-diving. I just bought my third house, and the slumlord workload is finally tapering off. I'm not an adrenaline junkie, but my personality forces me to seek constant stimulation, mostly to make up for the 40 hours I spend sitting in front of a computer or in meetings. If I spend the weekend watching TV it feels like wasted time (unless it's a "Breaking Bad" marathon [what can I say…. I'm from New Methico!]). In spite of outward appearances, no I don't have my act together, but I'd like to think I'm "getting there". I'm a work in progress and I don't mind waiting to be with someone to be someone (that makes sense to me at least!).

I'm not looking for someone who is "Not sure" about having children… it's time to develop something bigger than myself and hopefully you're at a point in your life where you know this is where you want to go as well. A friend mentioned early in her pregnancy that you are never ready to have a child; but I can safely say this is not true for me. I have dedicated as much effort toward my career as I care to and now it's time to shift gears. So yes, I'm looking forward to it.

I get along best with the older, confident types (subdued confidence, not hubris or arrogance) and put lower priority on appearance. You score points if much of the following applies to you... "I have:
1) studied a language on my own
2) criticized normality
3) looked forward to dissecting a frog, pig, etc.
4) looked forward to doing my taxes
5) studied an artificial language (Esperanto, Klingon, etc)
6) a personalized license plate in leet
7) named a pet after a scientist or inventor
8) solved a 500-plus piece puzzle
9) a Ph.D.
10) a perfect attendance record in high school
11) corrected a professor in class
12) corrected a salesperson on technical specs
13) indexed and catalogued any personal collection
14) been to science camp
15) been a chess club member
16) minored in math for the fun of it
17) a phone number with GEEK as the last four digits or something equally geeky
18) taken the mensa test
19) made a case that 42 is a miscalculation
20) quoted Yoda in conversation
21) hacked into a computer system
22) had long Mac vs PC debates
23) plotted world domination
24) lied to score points on this test
25) built a robot."
[I am partly joking on much of this, but you get the idea...]

For fun:

I like to travel, but I'm not a big fan of dysentery or huge crowds, so that limits where I can go. A sandy beach is always a good call.

Favorite hot spots:

Palm Springs. Therapy to me is the top down, the music blasting and the wind in my hair on a weekend trip out there. Is it 'recreation' or 're-creation'?

Favorite things:

Breaking a sweat. I can have absolutely nothing in common with someone except the love of a good workout and it would be a relationship I'd treasure.

I once ran with an ultra-marathoner and someone yelled,"I get it, she's his trainer". That rocks.

Last read:

Finished "Inside Steve's Brain" & Austin's "Emma". (You can't beat the vocabulary lesson; 'valetudinarian'??... Really??!). Madly in love with Galbraith's "Affluent Society". I'm probably a Marxist.
